Pig in Boots
May 30th, 2010
The Cupcake Lady completed her first cupcake commission a couple of months ago.
The result was this unique black and white piggy bank.

Believe it or not, there really are black and white pigs out there wandering around the farmyard.
The cute little piggy below is thought to have mysophobia – a fear of dirt. The owners of the farm
had a novel idea to come up with a solution for this very unusual problem. They slipped on some
miniature wellies and off the little piglet went happily into the mud for the first time.

The Cupcake Army
September 14th, 2009
The Cupcake Army is on the march!
Edinburgh’s equivalent to the Terracotta Warriors.
This next batch of money boxes will be fired, glazed and fired again in the cupcake kiln within the next couple of weeks, ready for my next craft fair.

Why money boxes?
September 12th, 2009
Well, originally I wanted to make something for my niece and nephews that they could actually use and hopefully keep and treasure for years to come. I’ve tried to capture what it was like for me to see the world through a childs’ eyes. I’m still really a kid at heart. One of the best things my nephew William said to me when he was about 6 years old was “Are you really a grown up?” When I said “Yes!” he replied looking at me very seriously ”Come on, tell the truth Aunty Sandra!”. I took that as a big compliment.
Each cupcake money box has its own character, and being handmade rather than mould-made adds to the unique quality that I really want to achieve.
I would like to thank Natasha, William, Joseph, Christian and Louis for keeping me young at heart.
