The Cupcake Lady is getting prepared for the Coburg House Christmas Open Event.
The Christmas show is always a highlight of the year for Cupcake. Whether you’re interested in ceramics, painting, textiles, illustration, jewellery or any other creative field you’re sure to find something that you love at Coburg.
With over 70 artists inviting you into their own studios to view and buy their work this Open Event creates a unique atmosphere unlike any other gallery show.
The Cupcake Lady has been busy designing and hand making these lovely porcelain Christmas tree decorations. Leaving the porcelain white, without being glazed really brings out the beauty of working in this medium. The selection of festive ribbon adds all the colour that is needed to complete each piece.
These Heart Wreaths are a new take on the traditional Christmas Wreath. Hang one on your front door, over the fireplace or even put a few on your Christmas tree.

Coburg House Art Studios – Follow Up

Thanks to everyone who came along to the Coburg House Art Studios Open Show.
It is so important to get feedback and it was great to see some familiar faces from the Christmas show.
I want to try to present my pieces slightly differently for each show. I had the idea of having a couple of the pears and an apple sitting in a fruit bowl, with a picture frame around them as my very own still life.
I also used the frame theme to display my fab lolly box.
The weekend has definitely made me start thinking about the next step for Cupcake. I’ll be making more fab lollies, designed to be hung on walls and displayed in picture frames, rather than as money boxes.
I’ve also started making more pears and apples to be used as purely decorative pieces.
I’m looking forward to the Christmas show already and seeing where Cupcake takes me next.

The Cupcake Lady will be taking part in the Coburg House Art Studios Summer Open Event. Come and visit The Cupcake Lady in Studio 28 and see the money box selection.
Coburg House Art Studios will be opening all of its doors to the public for three days this summer. From Friday 6th until Sunday 8th August 2010 you will be able to visit more than 70 artists and craft workers in their studios as well as viewing highlights of their work in the Coburg House Gallery. Opening hours are 11am until 6pm each day.
